About

Pat Carroll is a composer, producer, researcher and educator with a background in electroacoustic music composition. With a PhD in electroacoustic composition from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, his composition work is deeply rooted in musical drama: the quiet, intricate textures that swell into overwhelming intensity. His work sits at the intersection of a range of electronic music styles such as electronica and ambient, informed by the precision and expression of classical music, and the experimentalism of art music traditions.

He is researching the impacts of technology on creativity, culture and the creative industries. In the past, he has lectured in Electroacoustic Composition at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Currently, he teaches Composition, Production, and Media and Cultural Studies at SAE Institute, Sydney.
